Over the years we have developed close relationships with our suppliers in India and are now able to offer a custom scarf manufacturing service.
If you have handled our scarves before you will know that we are extremely conscious of bringing a quality product to market and can offer you the same quality scarves manufactured in your designs and with your own label.
There are 3 main ways of producing a patterned scarf. You can have a woven design, i.e. tartan or striped, a printed design, either screen or digital, or a dyed design, i.e. tie dyed, piece dyed or dip dyed. Minimum order quantities vary from 25 to 200 pieces per colour depending on the size and design, and lead times post sampling are about 6 – 12 week, depending on order quantity. All you need is some artwork, or a sample for us to work from.
So if you've dreamt of having your own scarves manufactured please get in touch with us. If you want scarves made to order on a larger scale we have the capacity. Whatever your needs please give us a ring.
If you need 100 to 30,000 scarves printed, then screen printing is the most economical way of putting you designs onto a scarf. This style of printing works well with up to 5 colours in one design. We can also match your colours using the latest “Pantone Fashion, Home and Interiors Colour Guide”. It is possible to screen print with higher numbers of colours but this does increase set up costs and printing costs. The minimum order for screen printed scarves depends on the size of the scarf but is generally in the region of 100 to 200 pieces.
WHAT IS SCREEN PRINTING
In simple terms screen printing is a type of stenciling. The stencil pattern is made on a fine mesh screen which is the size of the scarf. For each colour in the design a separate screen is needed. The screen is laid over the fabric on the print table and the correct colour dye is applied through the screen with a squeegee. The application of each colour is done separately until the pattern is built up and complete.
If your design uses a lot of colours, or if you want blending, shading and gradations of colour, or if you just require a small number of scarves, then digital printing would be the best way forward.
Digital printing is relatively new technology which allows images with an unlimited number of colours to be printed. Whatever information is in the digital file you provide will be printed. The resultant image is highly dependent on the quality of the file and the type of fabric selected. Your scarf will have a soft textured finish as the inks sit within the fabric and not on its surface. The minimum order for this service is 25 – 100 pieces depending on the size of the scarf.
WOVEN DESIGNS
This typically covers Tartan, checked and striped designs but also includes various other weaving styles such as herringbone, hounds tooth, diamond twill, plain twill and satin among others. With direct access to our weavers we are also able to offer fabric on the roll in many different yarns. Generally, the minimum order for woven products is 150 – 300 pieces.
DYED DESIGNS
This is the most popular method of producing a plain single colour piece whereby the finished fabric is “piece dyed” one colour. For bespoke pashminas this is the most popular method. We also have products dip dyed which offers the ability to have two or three colours in one scarf.
BRANDING
We arrange all branding and labelling at source to our clients’ specification. Alternately we can send out labels and tags provided to us here in the UK by our customer. We can also have the packaging branded and have scarf hangers supplied with the product.
